Following on from his 2013 EP on DIY label Opal Tapes, Chicago producer Patricia returns with three tracks of hardware techno for Spectral Sound. Opener ‘Drip Down’ is centred on a drum machine groove and an unsettling deep-voiced vocal sample. ‘Hulderhusan’ is more towards the ambient side of Patricia’s work, the track’s 808 rhythms undercut by an elegiac synth backing. ’Foie Gras’ is a jacking house number, its kick drums so heavily submerged in tape hiss that they sound almost like they’re dissolving.
