For the seventh release on their ever-impressive label, the Den Haag “militia” behind BAKK has turned to Bronze Teeth, the Diagonal-affiliated collaboration between L/F/D/M and former Factory Floor man Dominic Butler. While firmly rooted in pulsating techno, the latter man’s industrial influences can be heard throughout. “Accidental Myiasis” delivers wonky vocal snippets, raw electronics and a relentlessly stuttering analogue rhythm, while “Cold Meets” sees the duo combining live percussion and metronomic drum machine hits with distorted, Cabaret Voltaire style electronics. A fine EP closes with “Marmalade”, a thrillingly dark and intense fusion of wild acid lines, thumping techno drums and wayward modular electronics.
