Axel Karakasis has released on a wide range of techno labels including Tronic, Intec and Planet Rhythm, and now appears on Spanish imprint Code. In its original format. “Ghost” is a dubbed out rolling groove that features a throbbing bass, sleek percussive riffs and ghostly vocal samples. It makes for a subtle but powerful club techno track. The label has also commissioned a series of remixes: the Dok & Martin take is a firing affair, while on the Gaston Zani version, a more visceral, clanging rhythm prevails. Ron Costa strips the track right back on his interpretation, while the Nuke remix rounds out this release with mysterious textures fused with sharp, metallic hi hats.
