Softcash – It’s Your Turn
Label: Quantized
Catalog#: QMD017
Release date: 2013-03-12
Source: WEB
Format: MP3
Quality: 320 kbps
Size: 65 mb
Genre: Deep House
Tracklist:
1. It’s Your Turn (6:24)
2. Lost Shine (7:58)
3. Funky Hand (7:14)
4. Still Alive (6:39)
Back on the scene with a full length EP, Quantized Music welcomes Softcash, a name that should sound familiar to some as previously featured on the imprints latest Various Artists compilation. His funk fueled jam A boy is not enough radiated high quality production skills. Now this fresh moniker is back to prove his skills even more with Its your turn. Four original pumping tracks that ooze sheer attitude and groove, the EP has an overall theme of jacking bass, pitched down vocal hooks and dastardly deep synth hooks. Clearly a name to look out for in the coming seasons, Softcashs unique brand of house music is illuminating an evolved and mature sound within the genre. Thick and full of resonance, the title track, Its your turn sparks a journey of sophisticated sound design and arrange. Playing on old school inspired hip hop vocals, the irresistible tracks bounce is created by Softcashs use of minimal yet precise drum programming. Bubbling and funky, automating and low, Its Your Turn takes the dancefloor to a twisted realm of classic meets new; with flawless swing and uplifting energy. A little more playful yet following the theme of the release, Lost shine again combines powerful hip hop vocal sampling and a unique use of poppy bass groove. Alternating vocal pitch levels and random hits of reverberating metallic spice fill the tune with a fun environment that closes the gap between deep and tech sounds in an innovative way. Falling back into a dark pit of melodic bassline and swagger vocals, Funky hand is just that, a funky taste of up and down delight. Matching a sound that is rapidly growing in todays scene, Funk Hand combines Softcashs signature spice of playful sampling and oh so satisfying four-to-the-floor percussion. Last but not least, Still alive turns the other cheek as its flow is built upon a more forward leaning rush. Sampling the popular hip hop track Still D.R.E., Softcash creates a spacey version of this gangster rap anthem. Cosmic synth sounds and a prominent hand drum groove sandwich themselves flawlessly between punchy kick drums and reverse vocal swells. It is safe to say that Softcash has successfully built an overall theme for his debut EP on Quantized Music. A sound that listeners can appreciate both new and old, this innovative pack proves again that the label is looking to push the boundaries of traditional deep house well into the future; and into Djs record bags.

Softcash & Sergi – Bass Trap / Acid Guard EP
Label: Rhythmetic
Catalog#: RHYTHMETIC029
Release date: 2013-03-11
Source: WEB
Format: MP3
Quality: 320 kbps
Size: 62 mb
Genre: Deep House
Tracklist:
1. Bass Trap (6:41)
2. Acid Guard [Alex Dimou Remix] (6:53)
3. Acid Guard (7:17)
4. Bass Trap [Lastraw Remix] (5:57)
Applauding new talent with a bit of help from familiar names, Rhythmetic Records brings its 29th drop with a production duo that is already widely acclaimed in the scene. Softcash & Sergi have been working on music for a year and finally have created a piece their satisfied with, no doubt destined to make waves from these two brilliant hands. Following some future releases marked for later this year, the production team has already received support from artists like Siopis, Amine Edge and Finnebassen among others. With different ears for house music, Softcashs funky basslines and hip hop vocals mesh well with Sergis atmospheric melodies and heavy bass to create one unique sound. With help from Alex Dimou and Lastraw, whove already proved their worth on the imprint with past releases, this four track journey is one to cherish. A poppy deep house journey with a systematic vocal sample from Daft Punks Technologic, make Bass trap a fun trip. Spaced out percs and plucks supply a teched out groove with the duos signature use of bumping basslines that stomp throughout this textured landscape. Through slick drops and a break that strips down to nothing before dropping everything with full force, the production team wastes no time at showcasing their talents with this opening gem. Turning Bass trap into a more somber and artistic beat, Lastraw reformats Bass trap into a thinned out swaying flow of effortless love. 80s influenced synths and bass hooks give Lastraws rendition a classic and gritty feeling of analog sound. Softcash & Sergi pack a punch of acid with their second tune of bubbling resonance. Acid guard continues the theme of melodic and thick basslines with light percussion groove and a somber vocal creating an eerie moment as a Softcash drops a hip-hop vocal bringing in an essence of attitude. Smaller moments of drum pause and delayed nuance gives Acid guard its charming allure. Lastly, having also previous released on Rhythmetic Records and also being remixed by big names like Maya Jane Coles and Tigerstripes, Alex Dimou takes Acid guard down a more house inspired road. With rolling snares and a wobbling filtered bass, his use of hard kick, bass, and pitched vocals give Acid guard a tougher feel of spooky house. All four tracks promise a specific flair of beats for any taste as the label marches on towards its 30th release. Raising a family of talented artists and Djs, were sure Rhythmetic Records will be around for 30 more.
