After a year away, label heads Pittsburgh Track Authority return to their own imprint with a new four track EP. This time they harness the energy of their live set by inviting percussionist Cottrell into the studio to add his flavor to tracks that were written for their live performance.

A1. Allegheny Acid 01
Features the 808 alongside the 303, with a half time breakdown and filtered snare pattern that bring the energy level higher.

A2. Allegheny Acid 02
Strips it down further, with the subtle timing shift of the acid and the thumping 909 augmented with Cottrell’s percussion for a minimal banger.

B1. Nonlocked
Takes things in a techno direction, with dubbed out chords reverberating through your mind, propelled by finely chopped loops of percussion.

B2. Levitate
This one is a DJ tool for those who want to add some human touch to their sets, with Cottrell playing alongside a simple electronic kick and hi hat loop for maximum dancefloor action, showcasing the finest in primitive rhythms

The trio of Thomas Cox, Preslav Lefterov and Adam Ratana have been busy since their first EP, The First Four on Uzuri, in 2011. In addition to releasing around a dozen EPs for labels like Work Them and Further along with their own Pittsburgh Tracks, they’ve toured as DJs and live performers, and Cox has become a columnist for Attack Magazine. They remain fiercely loyal to their Pennsylvania hometown, their production ethic (the album is named after Machine Age, Lefterov’s recording studio) and all-encompassing definition of house music.
