Perlon treated the arrival of their 100th release with a lack of fanfare we’ve come to expect from the Berlin operation and they seem to be wasting little time in heading towards the 200 mark. PERLON 102 welcomes back a familiar name in Portable for the South African producer’s first 12″ on the label in two years and the four tracks on Sportable find Alan Abrahams in suitably effervescent form. Given the name, it’s little surprise to hear “Medellin” is tinged with South American polyrhythms which are programmed perfectly within the sonic DNA alongside a rather doleful bassline. “Behind” features the vocal talents of L Cio and finds Portable traversing abstract terrain, whilst “Continue” finds Abraham dropping his distinct delivery over a snapping production.
