“Opal Tapes’ Patricia and synth-o-naut Jahlliya Fields team up as Inhalants for three mind-bending, abstract-yet-functional deep techno kicks on L.I.E.S. For our 2p, it’s the best we’ve heard from either artist, hitting a sweep spit dead on between Fields’ cosmic trips and Patricia’s shifty, tracky dancefloor patterns. The eponymous A-side carries a tangled, frayed mass of fluid, gritty synth modulations on a swinging, perpetual techno motion coming off like a frazzled Terrence Dixon groove. B-side, ‘No Hats’ follows that aesthetic with a noisier, blown-out effect strongly recalling Actress aces, and the furtive bleeps and rumbling kicks of ‘There Are Cops Around’ lodges into chaotic Detroit zones.”

Another excellent record to emerge from the L.I.E.S. camp.. I was wondering if Patricia would turn up on the L.I.E.S. release schedule in one form or another. Patricia and Jahilyya Fields working together seem like a logical collaboration, and the results of it are impressive. My tip is on ‘There Are Cops Around’.
