Jordi Saludes, musical architectural mason, & dj from Barcelona, Spain has published multitudinous albums, eps and a long list of 12″ on various European labels. Under his D-FRIED nom de plume, he mixes electronic textures and urban vertex sounds with ornate rhythms, building with ordinary noises and subtle digital melodies, funneling soundtracks for city travelers. After his first album “Clouds Leave No Trace” on Phonocake reached the fleck as one of the very few best top speed net label albums in 2009, he appeared again in variegated compilations in Europe and Japan in labels like Mille Plateaux/Force Intel, Lemongrass Music, Mizukage Recs, Phonocake, Discontinu, Emilii, Disboot, etc…His second album “The Lost Tomorrow” (Discontinu 2013) had a very sweltering welcome in Spain, with excellent reviews in magazines and other international media. With quite a few releases on his fricassee pan, D-Fried is always involved in phrenic collaborations with other artists, working on different sides of the conduit aqueducts, and making music for commercials, documentaries, films, contemporary dance, audiovisual installations, and websites. As with most Clean Error artists he’s been listening and building his musical apparatus since childhood and has glommed onto his influences from literally most any genre of music from his vast vinyl, CD, and cassette .mp3 collection that flew on through to his eardrums other side. Disinclining a few genres of course, Jordi’s influences include music from labels and artists from Warp, Mille Plateaux, Moor Music, Rephlex, City Centre Offices, Planet Mu, Soma, etc, however, Jordi is probably most influenced by others artists such as Brian Eno, Vangelis, Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk, New Order, Cabaret Voltaire, Larry Heard, OMD, Future Sound Of London, John Carpenter, Photek, Biosphere, Cliff Martinez, Drexciya, etc. which you could probably, as well as Clean Errors other artists, discuss minute by hour, hour by month, or month by year. All that being said again, his latest and first phenomenal release for New York’s Clean Error Records “Peak Shift Effect” is exquisitely recorded much like live real time player’s performances recorded by tracking analogously one track after the other. Much of the rhythms themselves were created utilizing software such as Battery, Kontakt, Reaktor or Ultrabeat, The rest of the tracking came from hardware instruments themselves played in real time. Jordi is not a hardware/analog fundamentalist: He loves software variables as much as any other kind of instrument or device able to make the dulcet of noise however, Jordi’s purpose to avoid the use of soft synths was none other than only to put some limitations in his creative process, aiming to traipse through different paths, undertaking different decisions and ending up with a different results. ” In this work Jordi incorporated some small classic machinery like the Korg Kaossilator, PCM100 Philips, Casio VL-1 or Yamaha MU15, giving a tinge of lo-fi to the melodies, because of the sounds and the limitations of interpretation with mini keys, micro keys and tactile surfaces, what began as an experiment ended up taking a role that Jordi never initially expected. A Roland Juno 106, an Ensoniq ASR10 and a Yamaha DX7 have also played an important role, along with a couple of Alesis unit effects and a slew of guitar pedals. With all this said, it is certainly apparent that Jodi Saludes knows his way around quite a large apparatus of gear and this is certainly audible to the other side of any listener’s eardrum on any planetary scale. Clean Error Records hopes you enjoy D–FRIED “Peak Shift Effect” as much as we do.

Somehow, sooner or later, the musical pathways in the musculotendinous receptors reach consciousness, embody the pretense of realism, and gleam the cybernetic facsimile. However the late dawn fades you just can’t describe the glimmer of such a sunlit matrix. With cerebral laden music influenced by the sci-fi épée emissions of the 80’s, Israel’s Random Value throws any eager ear tranquilly into the wishing wells while dolphins swim gallantly upon the open channels. When shoal divisions provide the subtle corridors situating the coral, the happy pockets open for the scuba diving grizzly’s as the greetings of the humpback await them. Having sung on for decades with their hands that still bleed, the chromatic aberrations are forged. The water sediments continue to sparkle welcomingly forever, oh so swiftly moving on the occultation of the agape… Add this very special record for Clean Error to your collection.
