Lush ambient dub techno producer Erich Schall delivers his second outstanding EP, Distant Twirl for basic_sounds. Schall, who also creates music under the pseudonym Alberto Buitony has appeared on Cologne based netlabel, Der Kleine Grüne Würfel, RotRaum Music and Gleichtakt Records.

The self-titled opening track is a deep, meditative, spacey-dub track guided by pensive trance-like pulses and eerie alien sound effects. “Voxtrap” is propelled forward by a steady 4/4 beat, integrating melodic spiraling chords and light cotton-coated synth pads for the ultimate airy dub journey. Closing track, “Nachtfahrt” is an infectious upbeat immersive dub groove incorporating echoing cords, distant crackles, panning effects and uplifting vocal samples. Ultimately altering perception through repetition while demonstrating his masterful finely honed studio instincts. Brilliant.
