Having previously proved their credentials in the re-edit arena, Bristol’s Boogie Cafe crew has decided to move into the realm of original production. Happily, the material here is pleasingly good, with Chezz’s woozy, organic, soul-flecked deep house opener – featuring some superb samples and cowbells aplenty – standing out. Newman’s luscious, electric piano-heavy, edit-not-edit “Here With You” also impresses, while Childs & Moore’s “Low Key Disco” lives up to its’ name. Of the remixes, it’s probably Dave Gerrard’s rubbery, swinging interpretation of “Here With You” that takes the plaudits, but both reworks of the Chezz tune are also solid.
