Dane Samuel Andre Madsen has released previously on NSYDE, Synapsis Records and his own Oscillat imprint as Mandar with Lazare Hoche. Oh and let’s not forget his own Delaphine imprint; he’s one busy guy! This new one for Berlin’s Growin’ Music is some seriously soulful and emotive house. On the A side, first track “Metanoia” is an excursion through analogue soul with rich, immersive strings on top of dense tom drums and some sinister sound design. “Lost” gets a melancholic, high tech soul vibe going, it’s something that could have been on Transmat in the early 90’s with its expressive synth work over fierce 808 rhythms. Finally on the flip, “Quest For The Lost Lamb” is a dark and dusty deep house jam, with its rusty rhythm, cut up classical samples and cavernous bassline that fans of Workshop will definitely be all over.
