Denis Horvat follows last year’s In Hertz release with a new two-track EP for Exit Strategy. The title track follows an unusual approach; chugging along at 120bpm, it sees the Danish producer bring together droning riffs with tribal house drums. Despite seeming incompatible, these elements blend fluidly. On the other side, “Nonsense” sees Horvat embrace another unorthodox methodology. This time, it sees a glitchy, minimal groove underpinning a siren stab that is looped and filtered to infinity, without losing time with the jittery, twitchy backing track. Axle is ideal for those DJs who like to drop sonic curve balls in their sets.
