For EP047 we are delighted to present the debut of even more fresh talent from Belfast via the hotly tipped duo Cophin. Lead track Super Freak is exactly the kind of demo we love to land in at EPHQ. We likened it like finding a dusty lost Rick James dat stuffed full of sonic experiments and discovering this hidden gem on there. It’s Bootsy Collins house and easily one of the most ID requested tracks from Timmy’s recent Boiler Room set. Stripped back yet packed with funk we absolutely love this fresh sounding cut. Second track Tunnel Vision is a proper heads down dubbed out club missile designed for dark late night floors and proves Cophin are no one trick ponies. T-Bone must have had his Street Sounds compilations on rotation before getting stuck into his Battlebridge mix which takes Superfreak for an authentic sounding B-Boy electro ride. Fresh from his well received Different Strokes EP a few releases back and recent outings on UK house institution Classic recordings, Jordan turns in a great electronic version of Tunnel Vision that is perfectly crafted for those peak time floors. So Belfast on the originals and Belfast on the remixers you can’t much more Norn Iron than that!
