Delroy Edwards does it again, pulling out four Chicago bangers from the source for his L.A. Club Resource. As with Gene Hunt’s ‘Freddy’s Dead’ winner, these cuts were dug from the archives of OG house players, namely Steve Poindexter, Johnny Key and Trackmaster Scott. Uptown, they bat out the hypnotic minimal jack of ‘Street Fighter’ and lock off a bumpty zinger titled ‘Sadaam’s Bush’; downtown, they freak with the starkly raw swerve of ‘Cats’, and the reel old skool twang of ‘Blazing Saddles’, riding a cantering groove with splashing hook and killer rimshot play.
