Whilst stylistic trends will always come and go in electronic music, the one thing the jobbing DJ cannot do without the humble DJ tool 12″, a record to use as bridge between moments, or indeed to augment and complement those moments. The largely mysterious Le Borgne label has over the course of its sporadic output to date, served that function perfectly and the label’s ninth 12″ in some five years offers no deviation. The A side is little more than a classic James Brown break extended over ten minutes and occasionally complemented by a thick set bass line, but the more creative selectors out there will probably already be thinking of ways to deploy it from the soundclips alone. There is little more to the B side, a delay heavy exercise in late ’80s/early ’90s house music, but then does there need to be?
