Given their long association with the Luv Shack label, it’s quite a surprise to find that Roshambo marks Jakobin & Domino’s first EP for the Vienna imprint since 2014. As if making up for lost time, the EP is packed with fresh new cuts. The title track is a dreamy, sun-kissed deep house treat, which benefits greatly from hazy Brazilian vocal samples and a rolling breakbeat backing. “Can’t Help It” is a chunkier, New Jersey influenced affair, while the impressive “Mooguai” is a sparkling combination of deep house grooves and spiraling, nu-disco synths. Finally, there are two versions of “Polar 7”; the duo’s Chicago acid-influenced original, and a disco-tinged, pumped-up rework from Lukas Poellaur.
