Montreal-based Seaking delivers its second release in January, a remix EP of vocal-led crossover house from Montreal-based band GIRL featuring versions from Mario Basanov, Ezlv and MANIK.

Fresh from his LP for the London imprint, Needwant artist Mario Basanov is first up, and delivers a slick and breezy slice of electronic house that uses thick chords and nimble, musical bass tones as a light but punchy backdrop to GIRL’s vocals.

Ezlv, the Canadian duo behind the Seaking label, keep the melodies flowing but add slightly more robust drum track which, although subtle, provides extra weight alongside some additional, eerie melodies.

Finally, NY Producer M A N I K rocks it out with a slo-mo version that evolves into a spiked, guitar led cut that comes off like an 80’s anthem rather than his usual house music leanings.

GIRLS ‘Lips’ is released on Seaking on 28th January with a preceding vinyl release slipping out slightly earlier.
