Despite impressing with their grasp of dancefloor dynamics and classic house influences, Italian duo Die Roh rarely release material. To date, they’ve released just three EPs and one album – written with regular studio pal Steve Murphy – in three years. There’s a significant chance, then, that the Lancia Delta EP could be their only outing in 2015. It’s predictably as essential as their previous releases, with A-side “Xm II” – a thrillingly locked-in, heads-down concoction boasting bumping Italian house drums and superbly evocative chords – leading the charge. They show their robust side on the muscular acid funk of “Composed 22”, while “Paper Plan (Dub)” does a neat job of fusion loopy, techno style rhythms with glassy-eyed deep house chords.
