Specialising in house music inspired by jazz, funk and disco, Paris-based De La Groove have put out tracks from the likes of Grant Nelson, Demuir, Black Loops and Art Of Tones. For this 21st release, though, they’ve turned to local talent, including label bosses Chinau, Vanderkraft and Knuckle G. Tracks range from the jazzy, leftfield chug of Pedro De Montelimar’s ‘My Dog (etc)’ to Vanderkraft’s uptempo and piano-laden ‘Spritz D’Ete’, via the dusty, looping funk of Knuckle G’s ‘Pursuit’, Larry G & Chinau’s soul-dripping ‘Wtvr You Need’ and the wonkified deep garage of Le Hutin’s ‘Closer’, with the quality meter reading “very high” throughout.
