80’s Greek synth legend rediscovered by Music From Memory’s Tako Reyenga led to the The Sleeping Beauties (A Collection Of Early & Unreleased Works) comp being released on the newly formed Into The Light imprint, which he formed in collaboration with Ilias Pitsios. Several tracks from the compilation get a remix by some pretty hot names. Full Pupp’s Telephones gives the track a dreamy deep house makeover with a generous balearic touch and still manages to retain the dreamy xylophone sounds of the original; they should just call him Xylophones now! Amsterdam’s Young Marco is up next giving “Enigma” a modern deep house revision but still remaining true to the original by utilising the same mesmerising melody. Finally Future Times’ Max D gives “Improvisation” the 2015 update and is the real highlight on here, reworking those steel drums and Fairlight presets of the original into the kind tastefully retro throwback jam you’d expect to hear at Salon des Amateurs.
