Those who’ve closely followed the career of German deep house veteran The Timewriter over the last two decades may already be familiar with “Life Is Just A Timeless Motion”. The track – an attractively woozy but surprisingly driving cut featuring trippy spoken word vocals from Sid Thomson – was first showcased on the producer’s 2002 album, Diary Of A Lonely Sailor. It remains something of an underground deep house classic, though there’s an argument to say that Sascha Dive’s brand new “Cosmic Dub” version is even better. Running to almost 11 mesmerizing minutes, Dive’s rework strips the track to its’ bare bones, emphasizing the bustling dub house bassline, select vocal passages, and the Timewriter’s hazy melody loops.
