Alexander Pietnev aka Ponty Mython, is originally from Russia but is currently settled in Vilnius, Lithuania. He had his very first release in 2012 on Beats Delivery and gave a solid impression of what was to come. He went on with outings on Tusk Wax, Arma, Dirt Crew and Quintessentials. He inaugurates Burnin Music here with the cheeky indie house of “Black Magic” which calls to mind recent work by Moscoman or Red Axes. The blasphemy continues with the lo-fi house of “God Bless Atheism”. The driving deep groove entitled “Secret Sunbath” has some summery and tropical retro vibes to balance out its tough Robert Hood style bass loop before he closes out the EP nicely with the esoteric afro house jam “Hidden Object”.
