Following a six-month break, Bradley Zero’s International Black – an offshoot of Rhythm Section International that aims to serve up more forthright club fare – returns to action. As with previous releases, INTBLK003 is a double-header. Rhythm Section partygoer-turned-label artist Mallard handles the virtual A-side, in the process serving up a deep, spacey and pleasingly meandering cut that wraps attractively bubbly electronics and tumbling synthesizer motifs around sparse and jazzy deep house drums. Brilliantly, Mallard decides against simply pursuing dancefloor thrills by emphasizing the track’s vintage ambient house elements at key points throughout its’ 10-minute duration. Those looking for more straightforward deep house thrills should check J.Deep’s woozy and gently jacking “Low Rise”, which sounds like something Mall Grab might release.
