Kaytronik is the new alias of Baltimore deep house legend Karizma. The original version of “State We In” is a dreamy and sublime journey despite the dark shadow that it casts. As label R2 describe in the press notes, it is “a hard driving groove punctuated by a harder hitting narrative on the current disarray in the world as a whole, and the U.S. specifically.” However second track “I Say” is a tough street techno workout with a bass heavy broken beat and chopped up hip-hop vocals. This is a whole other side to Kris Klayton that we’ve never heard.. But we’re likin’ a lot!
