Berlin based DJ and producer Johannes Albert has appeared previously on his own Frank Music mainly, but also White and now for Mainz based label Klamauk. This is deep and soulful house inspired by U.S. Midwest sounds, particularly “Life Me Up Tight” which is the deep and dirty swing fuelled business that Detroit Beatdown would throw down. “A Door I Opened Only Once” sounds like classic Mr Fingers/Larry Heard, this is pure, bittersweet and emotive deepness. “Frenetic Dreaming” indeed really is quite dreamy, but more in a Cologne/Kompakt kind of way: still great! The remix of it by Christopher Rau is a driving 808 drum track/DJ tool and it’s raw!
