GCR is proud to bring you the debut solo EP from Brian Best, the best Brian there is. You may recognize Brian from our second release as 1/3 of Script the Flip, or even from his Keep it Movin’ residencies at some of NYC’s best venues, but he is most often recalled for his moonlighting at area malls and strip clubs. Strongly influenced by an extended stay in Berlin that would forever change his path, Brian has pumped out some tunes in parallel to the experiences he describes as “tight and wavy.” We still don’t know what that means.

‘Friends’ and ‘The Resistance’ kick and claw their way through a vibrating mesh of lush pads and superbly programmed percussion. They are a burst of energy and a roll of emotion you can’t help but bounce your head to. Argentina native Manuel Sahagun masterfully plucks through his remix of ‘Friends’, matching the original’s gait and redefining its character. ‘Friends’ gets another remix from local artist, accomplice, and techno debonair Sean Cormac who flips the track on its head as it pulses and grinds its way to glory. With this release we can now happily say Brian Best is not only a friend, but surely ‘good company’. Enjoy GCR006.
