Still in the midst of enjoying the release of their 2020 album Simulcast, last year’s Weather LP is granted a remix treatment just like their Awake album Ghostly International released in 2016. Employing the likes of Chris Duckenfield’s RAC project (think Warp Records) on “Pink & Blue” and Australian producer Harvey Sutherland on “For How Long”, both opt for reworks of Hannah Cottrell’s Saint Sinner vocals. Headlining the remix package is a slow-mo pop and electro workout by Com Truise on “No Stress” with Nightmoves’ turning in something deep, reflective and instrumental in remixing the title track, “Weather”. Newcomer Pluko plays with a percussive, contemporary pop and synthwise approach to remixing “Skate” next to the beatdown and instrumental hip hop vibe of Christopher Willits, neon flair of Satin Jackets, and Mind Minds’ two steppy, post-dubstep and melancholic glow of “Easy”. Partly cloudy with summer on the horizon.
