French producer Erwan Castex is still riding high off the release (and reissue) of his 2012 album Tohu Bohu, which RA’s Stephane Girard called “a huge leap forward… the work of an artist fully in charge of his vision and craft.” Apache will be the first release of new material since the LP and its raft of singles (plus a healthy helping of remixes), and comes after a move back to France, where he built a new studio, from his former home of Berlin. It’s reportedly a mix of synth-heavy, dance-friendly sounds (including the “sleazy acid loops” of “Bachi-Bouzouk”) and more experimental material (“Origin” promises “an internal torrent of noise and abstract tones”), and it’ll come on French imprint InFiné Music.
