Alpha & Omega dub out ‘Addis’ from ‘Adviatic’, the most recent LP opus from Om. It’s a logical step on from band-member Al Cisneros’ ace pair of 7″ dubs on Sinai, turning the mystic East African and Indian vibes of the original with bouncing basslines and dynamic, almost noisy FX rendering. The ‘Ababa Dub’ is perhaps more sprung and driving, while ‘Addis Ababa’ swooning and smoked out, but both version make great use of the original’s lush string sweeps and haunting vocal.
