With artists like Carl Craig, Deena Abdelwahed and Max Cooper keeping Agoria’s Infine label in the headlines, so too does Frieder Nagel. Debuting in 2019 with the five-track Distract Robots EP, Nagel delivers the label its first release for 2021 with a deep, abstract and neo-classic EP of ambient and highly evocative experimental electronic music. With deep and string-themed vortexes to be explored in “The Arrival”, find some minimal, prepared piano in “Calm Territory” next to the bass heavy brass tones of “Into The Open”. And for that extra acoustic effect, find soft toms and percussion work mixed between ambient recordings of room noise and hopeful orchestral strings in “Para”.
