Buraka Son Sistema’s Joao Barbosa dons his now familiar Branko alias for a third EP on the Portuguese group’s acclaimed Enchufada label. “Eventually” is a little different to his previous outings, which tended towards the rougher, bass-heavy end of the spectrum. Instead, it joins the dots between picturesque Amazonian melodies, tropical rhythms, woozy vocals and the sensual warmth of deep house, all the while retaining a dreamy feel and summery dancefloor appeal. Tony Quattro remixes, reaching for the cowbells and delivering a tougher mix that’s altogether rougher round the edges than Barbosa’s original. With hazy synth horns, Balearic guitars and heavy bass aplenty, it’s an excellent – not to mention unusual – dancefloor rework.
