Star-gazing mechanica from up-coming Norwegian outfit Sub Drifter, here lie four smouldering pieces of deep dub machine music. “Be Ready” is all about the industrial strength drum arrangement where the plucked bass hammers in unison with the pneumatic drums. “Epoch” takes a similar approach but squares our focus more on the drums and subs rather than any outwardly unruly bass textures. Deeper again we hit “Zero” where demonic voices pepper the finely tuned snares and glitches before “Unclassified” takes us even deeper into the bass cosmos where eerie designs and atmospheres hit hard like tidal waves. There’s no drifting to this.
