Like its predecessors, Cin Cin’s third release showcases cuts from two different producers. First to the plate is the mysterious V, whose “La Nouvelle Epoque” expertly tips a hat to Italo-disco, proto-house, and new wave synth-pop. Follow-up “Mon Vieil Amour” takes a similar approach, with twinkling synthesizer lead lines tumbling over a slightly darker, woozier groove. Swiss veteran Ripperton handles the virtual flipside. His first missive is “Poor Kid, Maad City”, a hypnotic and tactile chunk of metronomic deep house full of dreamy loops, reverb-heavy riffs and bubbling electronics. He then rounds off a fine EP with the dubwise, bass-heavy deep house throb, cyclical organ motifs and choice vocal cuts of “Michelada”.
