Spain’s Poetry In Motion serve up a three-tracker from Erik Ellmann, a producer from Leipzig, Germany whose work has featured on such respected labels as Large, Beef and Sundries. Disco/funk grooves from the classier, more understated end of the spectrum are the order of the day generally: the looping ‘Somebody Else’ itself has a wistful, Lemon Jelly-ish feel, the mellow, piano-sprinked ‘Dad’s Chords’ nudges us a little closer to jazz-funk territory, while ‘Soul Brother’ leans towards the boogie side of the street and sports a vaguely Robert Owens-esque male vocal… it could even be man himself, but with just two lines it’s hard to tell!
