Marco Dionigi chose to launch the QND Philosophy imprint with a collaborative EP, featuring his old pal – and cosmic disco pioneer – Daniele Baldelli. For release number two, he’s opted to fly solo. Lead cut “Spectrum” is delivered in three contrasting versions. The original laces psychedelic, electronic motifs and poodle perm-boasting guitar solos over a low-slung disco groove. The latter elements are pushed to the fore on the “Funky Mix”, before the “Long Mix” allows the veteran Italian producer to stretch out his loopy groove further. “Secret Area”, a winding shuffler full of deep analogue bass, alien synths and vintage electronics, completes another solid package.
