Forming last year and launching with a fittingly cosmic EP on Mantide earlier this year, Romagna duo Club Paradiso dig deep into their Italo heritage once again with four hip-slinking sizzlers on longstanding Cinedelic project Mondo Groove. We let rip with “Batongo”, a trunk-bellow safari jig where synth steel drums lead the way with a humid allure. “Litorano” eases back off the heat for a disco jam that starts off with an Nigerian feel before switching into Moroder and back again. “Espresso Notte” is all about the slap-happy bassline and cosmic moog spirals before “Gulliver” closes the show with shuffled up drums, a spasmodic jittery bassline and a synth/vocal/horn salvo that fires in from nowhere.
