Fuse sub-label, Infuse returns with its third various artist package, again showcasing the unique and formidable sound the Fuse brand, this time courtesy of Mariano Mateljan, Alci, Ferro and Steve Abot.The Infuse digital imprint, was launched by the Fuse London crew in March of 2013, as a platform for releasing underground cuts from the ever-evolving collective involved with the infamous London events. The initial few releases saw up and comers Samu.l, Jun Akimoto, and Mariano Mateljan featured, brilliantly honing on a clear-cut style for the label, and bringing to light the talents of some refreshing artists. Here it pushes forward with its third release, again welcoming back Mariano and Steve and introducing Ferro and Alci to the roster.Mariano Mateljans Pigeon Boxer kicks things off; the Croatian producer turns in a rugged low-slung workout, built around subtly evolving drums, bumpy sub-bass and sporadic phased vocal lines to create a smooth head-nodder. Following is Justice by Alci, the Swiss producer and Robsoul artist delivers a dubbed-out analogue feeling cut, which cleverly blossoms and retracts with an underlying tension for its entire seven minute duration, pure understated class on show here.Entering the latter half of the single we have Ferros Semmer, something entirely different in contrast to the preceding records, the Dutch artist provides us with a glitched-out, swirling affair with elongated bass drones, and a vacillating dynamism, which gives off an ever-evolving modular feel to the tack. Then to close things Steve Abot offers up Sovereign, Belgiums finest takes a more direct 4/4 approach to wind down the package, with failsafe 909 drums, bulbous subs and expansive atmospherics, closing things in style.

Dungeon Meat is the new label and production outfit brought to you by Dungeon Masters Brawther and Tristan da Cunha. Packing a serious punch, it’s aim is to present tracks designed specifically to rock the party and shake the sound system. Our first release of 2014 is a split 12 featuring a newcomer act and a veteran name, both new to the Pampa circle, and both of whom manage to adhere to our sound while at the same time widening it. Ricoshëi is Nikko Gibler and Jake Patrick, based out of Hitland Studios in Los Angeles. “Perfect Like You” is one more pop-tinged numbers to appear on our label, with breathy vocals yearning for the next best thing, sublimated by the ambient tendencies glowing in the tracks atmosphere. For all their rampant, nerdy analog fetishization, the duo still knows that emotionnot fancy gearis the key to connecting with listeners. Hardcore Pampa followers might recognize this one, as DJ Koze previewed it late last year in his XLR8R podcast, and now you, too, have the opportunity to snuggle up with your very own copy. This is the kind of song that makes you want to close your eyes, not to sleep, but to abandon perception to your ears alone fuelling your hearts imagination. The flipside is a new cut from Berlin-based DJ/producer Dave DK, short for his real name, David Krasemann, which sounds a bit like crazy man. And those already familiar with his work know hes got a bit of that madness-bordering-on-genius thing going on. OK, maybe thats an overstatement, but Woolloomooloo speaks for itself. Just have a listen and submerge yourself into this majestic cyborg aquarium of a track, and within moments youll feel the hypnotic, euphoric, nostalgic and anti-ageing qualities. Side effects may include dizziness. (But probably only if you are standing on the vinyl while its spinning.) What a start into 2014!!

Even though 2013 saw Tom and Zip, the duo better known as Homework, take over their beloved home turf of the Netherlands and the rest of Europe – playing an insane amount of summer festivals and club gigs – it also saw the two hit a bit of a dry patch production wise. Thankfully that period is behind them and they’re back on Exploited with a vengeance.

The two tracks on this new single, although very different in nature, can best be defined as an excursion into moody yet poppy territory. A path the musical chameleons have not previously explored. The first track, ‘The Way I See It’, has been described by the twosome as an ode to their affinity for 80’s synth pop from the likes of Depeche Mode, The Human League and The Cure. Both a slow burner and a unquestionable club track the first real ‘song’ from the two Dutchmen features lyrics and vocals by an up and coming talent from Holland, Bea Anubis, whose lush singing voice can also be heard on Alex Barck’s (Jazzanova) 2013 solo album Reunion.

‘The Grind’, the down tempo 78BPM B-side, goes hand in hand with it’s A-side counterpart but is nonetheless in an entirely different ball park. It’s the answer to what would happen if an East Coast hip-hop producer shook hands with an analog synth-obsessed lunatic. At times repressed and introverted it’s an intimate jam full of small details that infuses the listener with a sense of summery yet melancholic nostalgia. A theme Homework has been known to indulge in.

Exploited is proud to see the prodigal sons return to the imprint and to the form we’ve come to expect from them.
