Loom is one of those visionary artists who likes to push boundaries and dissolve genres into nothing more than abstract ideas. His productions have landed on majors such as EMI and Universal, but he’s landed on Gobstopper, because even he knows that the only true home for his music is in the underground. This five-tracker spans a number of styles and ideas, starting with the bass-heavy sound exploration that is “Universal Love Scene”, followed by the kick-heavy bounces of “Fractured Light”. “Dyed Black Hair” is a neo grime bullet in all senses of the phrase, “Nylon” is a two-step monster in the same vein as Zombie’s output, and “Tracksuit” floats in mid-air with a beatless sway and drops of low-end. Killer.
