Bristol based James Mannion has appeared previously on Audiophile XXL, Anthemic Sounds and 3000 Bass but this time makes his debut on Brighton’s Southpoint who described his style succinctly: “He blends warm and airy synth pads with hard-hitting 4×4 bassline and breakbeat riffs to achieve a versatile and balanced sound”. Here here! “Apache” is classic UK 2-step reminiscent of MJ Cole, complete with orchestral stabs and vocals. There’s more of the same on his remix of Rural’s “No One” but “Lifted” gets more on the underground sound: sick bassline on this one and sounds great on that part when it goes 4/4. The Karl Vincent & Tee remix of “Apache” is more of a straight ahead bassline house makeover: nice one!
