Eclectics’ latest multi-artist outing is as Balearic as Jose Padilla, dancing in dungarees, extortionate club entry fees and gawping at stunning sunsets while still “refreshed” from the night before. JPYE and Leonidas set the tone with “L’Orient”, where lilting, sun-baked lead lines and dreamy chords drift around a mid-tempo dub disco groove, while JYPE and Stupid Human successfully join forces on the hypnotic neo-jazz-funk/Balearic disco fusion of “Ooh La La”. Twonk takes over for the second half of the EP, first adding subtle TB-303 flourishes to a smooth nu-disco groove on his remix of Stupid Human’s “Bugjam”, before impressing with the seductive, soundscape nu-disco bliss of baggy closing cut “Woo Wah Wah”.
