After a series of Eps for Poker Flat, Engelhardt puts out his debut album on the label. It’s an assured but bleary affair, littered with lush instrumentation and off centre pop influences. It starts with the lush woodwind and strings on the title track, before the German producer leads the listener down a path that includes the slap-bass, stripped back house of “Solitude” and “When the Distance Disappears”, the frosty trance on “Kissing Your Eyes” and the pulsating, tripped out “Azimute”. Clearly, Engelhardt has an eye (and an ear) on moving beyond the dance flop and Moments also includes a series of home listening tracks like “Eyes Closed”, which features Forrest’s slurred vocals and layered, textures.
