At the moment no one’s really making the kind of techno newly established Head Front Panel is: mega-slamming, mega-synth heavy, lo-fi drum trax produced at a such a frenetic pace even DJs like Surgeon may have trouble playing them. “Track 1” from HFP’s second EP is probably the best example of this, however the harsher sonics settle for tonal bleeps in “Track 2”, but the 909s are still going off. “Track 3” is the EPs most reserved production in terms of musicality, but its groove is non-stop ’90s hedonism, while “Track 4” makes you think, is this a Stefan Linzatti record, or should we point the finger at John Heckle or Hieroglyphic Being?
