Some old school retro inspired house on the Kerri Chandler tip, courtesy of new Karlsruhe, Germany based producer. “Hot Tea With sugar” and the charmingly titled “Sweet But Stinky” (we’ll assume he’s talking about local dairy products!) are some of the most well executed throwback sounds you’ll hear this year. Deep and soulful with that dreamy Rhodes piano lead taking you higher, but no compromise on the beats. The tracks (produced with sidekick Momo Arigato) get some pretty sweet remixes too; Nachtbreaker’s take on “Hot Tea With Sugar” is also indebted to Chandler and just as full of charisma as Muhlschler’s original. Peter Clamat’s remix of “Sweet But Stinky” gets on more of a smooth R&B tip before crossng over back into deep house, it’s a real highlight on here with its rich, swirling synth tapestries.
