After a brief sojourn on Yay Recordings, Riccardo Buccirossi returns to the Imprints label on which he made his debut last year. The fabulously titled Melody Haunts My Reverie further enhances his deep house credentials, delivering a trio of tracks that mix chunky basslines and loose-but-tough, jazz-tinged rhythms, with a variety of melodious elements. On “Lapiuta”, that means bleep-heavy eight-bit electronics, seemingly pinched from a vintage Gameboy release. In the case of “Frogs Misterios”, it takes the former of chiming, synthesized xylophones and cheeky vocal samples, while flipside “Real” sees him stretching out chords and tinkering with oh-so subtle keys.
