There is not a great deal of information available about the mysterious Haz Mat, but we can trust Detroit/Houston joint venture Kolour Recordings as always for sourcing the best of North America’s deep house talent. Whispers From The Nebula starts off with “NuGalaxy”, a warm and dusty exploration through early evening deepness that’s reminiscent of Baltimore legend Karizma’s work. “Solar Wisdom” gets more upbeat with its sharp and bouncy bassline supported by immersive pads and rusty hi-hats; one of those journey tracks that’d mix well into a Jimpster or Pezzner record. Finally “Ghost Planet” is the real highlight on here; a moody late night groover with a mesmerising melody that rings out above a driving beat and an emotive atmosphere.
