According to the scarce information online, Harb Allen hails from Italy and makes classic-sounding deep house. Certainly, that’s what he delivers on this first outing for Alkalino’s long-running Audaz label. “My Sound” combines warm, rich, typically Italian grooves – think filtered riffs, kick-heavy percussion and a jaunty bassline – with bouncy pianos and bold, early ’90s motifs. There’s a little more of a US garage feel to “Tribute To You”, with Todd Edwards style cut-up, mangled vocals and skippy beats complimenting Allen’s tasty deep house sounds. It has a little more bottom-end grunt than its’ predecessor, and includes some pleasingly sparse, groove-led moments amongst the swirling chords and snappy vocal hits.
