Phil Week’s Robsoul imprint launches its new Robsoul Edits series, inaugurated by up and coming Frenchman Around7. To quote Phil Weeks himself “whether its reworking for the dancefloor, tweaking for your tastebuds or looking to inject a new freshness to the funk, the best edits are always remembered”. Highlights include edits of Dave Dubbz “Lost In The Past” which sounds like DJ Sneak circa Sneaky Trax II, Parisian DJ W!ld’s deep groove “Disco & Shit” and probably one of the most needed edits of all: a splice up of Lorenzo’s classic “Get Deep” from 2006. Nail of UK legends Bent also appears; Around7’s edit of his track “Sweet Feet” from last year gets a pretty decent re-rub too, we must say.
