Having previously appeared on Masterworks Music, Outernational and Whiskey Disco, Tomas Malo should be a familiar name to those who closely follow the house-centric side of the disco re-edit scene. Here, he pops up on Fingerman’s Hot Digits imprint with a quartet of tasty treats. While the more ’80s soul inclined loop jams “Like The Sun” and “Talk of Love” – the latter giving an aural nod to Tiger and Woods – are fine dancefloor cuts, it’s the EP’s other two tracks that really sparkle. “Slave” is a killer, metronomic rework of the band of the same name featuring a killer bassline, while opener “Body Magick” – our pick – boasts an attractive filter-heavy, French touch style disco-house swagger.
