2014 has seen both artists receive critical acclaim for their creative endeavours, with Pinch’s new Cold label compilation winning over the likes of XLR8R, RA, Mixmag and more, while Mumdance’s ‘Take Time’ collaboration with Novelist for Rinse has been turning heads across the board.

‘Pinch B2B Mumdance’ acts as a musical snapshot of the sound the two artists have been building and features a host of forthcoming Tectonic material alongside a selection of their collaborative works.

Keen listeners will note the ‘VIPinch Mix’ of Mumdance & Logos’ ‘Legion’ and Pinch & Mumdance’s ‘Double Barreled Turbo Mitz’, a rework of the previously released killer ‘Turbo Mitzi’. ‘Noctis’ and ‘Lucid Dreaming’ are collaborations that the pair are unleashing exclusively for the very first time and Pinch’s forthcoming ‘Obsession’ appears in its original form alongside a punishing remix from Shed – both tracks are set for release on Tectonic in the near future.

‘This mix was the perfect chance to sit down with Pinch & bring together a sonic which we both feel we have been working towards for a while, albeit from very different angles. In my opinion the dance music climate in the UK is enjoying a healthy & extremely interesting transitional period; one which I would draw parallels to the 93/94 ‘Proto’ era when people were literally making up the rules as they went along. This mix is a ode to that time & our attempt at throwing some ideas out there, with the hope of sparking some imaginations & pushing things further forward’ – Mumdance

It was just over two years ago that Dutch producer Roel Dijcks first surfaced under the Ekman name, dropping a rather dashing looking blue 12″ for Bunker offshoot Panzerkreuz filled with some seven tracks that felt right at home on the Hague powerhouse. Fast forward to the current day and Ekman’s return to Panzerkreuz with this six track collection of untitled tracks arrives after some critically acclaimed moves on Berceuse Heroique, Shipwrec, Gooiland Elektro, Abstract Forms and Solar One. Word on the street is Ekman has a 12″ due for The Trilogy Tapes too. For their part Panzerkreuz described 1014 as “dark and menacing and heavily-pounding industrial techno/electro”, which is wholly accurate on the basis of these sound clips.
