Heat Division, from Pictures Music’s secret weapon Dauwd was undoubtedly one of the label’s finest releases to date, seeing a high profile US release on the respected Ghostly International. This remix EP sees the two labels team up again, with the producer’s emotive bass-heavy house music receiving some particularly welcome and high profile reworks. Top of the pile is an all-too-rare remix of the title track from Tim Goldsworthy, turning in another of his epic 9-minute unfolding house jams with funk oozing from its core. Complementing this, “&” is reworked by Ostgut Ton’s Nick Hoppner, with the introspective original given an even more emotive rework for the later hours, while Dauwd provides his own minimal and driving dub edit of “Silverse”.
